BBQ was a blast and was it hot!Arrived at 4.15pm to help out and chill out. Then came the fire starting of the BBQ "pit". Whew, standing a few feet away and I could still feel the heat emitted from the burning charcoals.Did some of the BBQ-ing, and ate as I did. Mostly I did the satays and the sweet corns and sweet potatoes. In the beginning I did some, then I sat down and have my share of food before stationing myself beside the pit for the rest of the dinner... Serving the whole family.Lurve BBQ, so that's what I did, to do the cooking. Seriously, what's the use of BBQ if you just sit around and get served by people? It totally defeats the purpose of having a BBQ in the first place!Had chicken wings, satays, otahs, asam squids and asam prawns, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. Bei nian also fried a big plate of bee hoon to go along with all these food, plus loads of drinks coming endlessly. The whole session started from 5+ and ended at around 9+... Thereafter was tea session (compliments from my aunt n uncle who owns a chinese teahouse), together with the same aunt's cakes. It was heaven~ Leftover charcols were used to boil the water for the tea brewing. Somehow it tasted better... Maybe it has something to do with the charcols, maybe it doesn't have any relation at all, but the family togetherness. ^^Played Wii as well... with my cousins, and used the pc and watched videos on youtube, and also star gazing (w/o the stars) with the adults (while my sis n cuz were playing Wii w/o me) LOLZ!Something I heard which I thought to be most appropriate:
Man A who has money left for him when he grows old, is the most lonely man on the planet, compared to Man B who is poor and all but left of him is a tea pot and tea cups. Because with the money, that's all Man A is left with. But with the tea pot and the tea cups, Man B can build relationships using them.
Money can't buy everything. What money can't buy, those are the most precious things in the world. What money can buy, those are the most common things in the world.
Rather lived a poor man but with friendship, kinship and love, than to live a rich man with nothing but cold hard cash.
~I totally agree~
