Leftover food from the BBQ, what do you do? Throw them in the fridge and set another date for another round of BBQ! That's what we did. And it was even more fun than the first. I guess the numbers play a part, and the people involved play another part. Still same venue, the patio provided a great area for in-house BBQ, and the weather played a vital role.It was raining like crazy during the 1st BBQ so we had to move the pit here and there while BBQ-ing! Totally kills the mood. The 2nd time was great, no rain but sun and a clear night sky. Very romantic. =)Poeple always say "the more the merrier". To a degree I do agree, but then when it comes to family BBQ, that does not apply. Cos' in my opinion, the more people, the food gotta be served as soon as possible. And that totally kills the mood and purpose of BBQ...to do it slow and let the charcol flavours the food to maximum peak. The second time it was different.... we really slowed down the pace, slowly eat, slowly BBQ-ed, and we took turns so everyone could eat something. Cept for my uncle who stood by the grill, but we had food for him so he wasn't left out.And the food choices were not that much this time: Satays, chicken wings(by my grams), otah, sambal sotong and prawns, saussages, marshmallow, taiwan saussages, sweet corn, sweet potatoes and fry mee by my aunt. And it was really fun just having these few food, and with the tables not so cramped with stuff. Kikapo was finished in mere minutes.. hehes. But what the heck, we have ice water later on, which was healthier than a soft drink. LOLZ! Can't expect too much 'healthy' things with the BBQ fire burning on.And the numbers played a part... Y? Cos we literally slowed down and chatted while we eat, and not quickly shoved the food in our mouths and went inside to clear space for others. And also, not so many people, the pace of the food was constant and not too fast. Flavours could really get inside the food, and we don't have to rush through it. Cos when there's no more food we just sat down and chatted with drinks in our hands or just sit around and had a great time until there're food again.Of course Wii was part of the package deal. But we played Mario cart, and the adults they played bowling while the rest of us chatted or read storybooks. I could see that my grams was having a great time there, which was our top priority. No doubt. =)Wonderful evening, gotta take a break and then let's have another go! -giggles-
